IP telephony

IP telephony, or VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), is a technology that allows voice calls to be made over IP data networks, such as the Internet, instead of using traditional telephone lines.

Instead of transmitting voice signals over analog circuits, IP telephony converts voice into digital data, which is transmitted via data packets over the IP network. This allows for more efficient and economical communication by taking advantage of existing Internet infrastructure and eliminating the need for dedicated telephone lines. IP telephony also offers a number of advanced functions and features, such as integration with email, instant messaging and video conferencing systems, as well as the ability to make calls from mobile devices or computers.
